Samsung at FPD International 2007

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world’s largest provider of thin-film-transistor, liquid crystal displays (TFT-LCD), will unveil a diverse array of leading-edge LCD panels for monitors, TVs and digital information displays at FPD International 2007, in Yokohama, Japan, October 24-26. At what is one of the world’s largest trade shows dedicated to flat panel displays, Samsung will introduce a 40-inch (101.6cm) diagonal Full HD LCD TV panel only 10.0 millimeters thick. This new display, expected to usher in the next wave of large-screen TVs, has the same profile as 10-20 inch LCDs designed for desktop monitors. Its bezel has been reduced from a conventional 30mm to 14.6mm.

Audi R10 TDI

The Audi drivers are facing a difficult task in the finale of the American Le Mans Series at Laguna Seca (US state of California). As expected the lighter LM P2 sportscars dominated qualifying. Team Audi Sport North America’s two Audi R10 TDI prototypes will start Saturday’s race as fastest LM P1 cars from fifth and seventh positions on the grid. The 2.238-mile long track in the hills near Monterey is ideal for the LM P2 sportscars which weigh 150 kilograms less than the cars of the LM P1 top class. Furthermore, the track has traditionally little grip due to the sandy surroundings. This makes it difficult to take full advantage of the high torque of the 650-hp TDI engine.

The Brazilian manufacturer is one of the world's largest aircraft companies. Munich. At this year's international aircraft show held in Atlanta by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) from September 25th - 27th, BMW Group DesignworksUSA caused quite a stir with their groundbreaking design of a medium-range aircraft built by the Brazilian company Embraer.

LG Electronics, a worldwide technology leader in mobile communications, introduced its new LG Viewty, LG KU990 mobile phone with advanced digital camera features and the ability to record video at up to 120 frames per second at IFA 2007 in Berlin, Germany. Its high end features won the phone praise from reporters and gadget fans at the exhibition, where LG also began speaking with potential business partners interested in bringing the LG Viewty to the general public.

Mercedes-Benz Canada launched a new website featuring images, video, vignettes, and product highlights of the innovative all-new 2008 Mercedes-Benz C Class. The site can be found at mercedes-benz.ca/whatdrivesyou. Understanding that many drivers see their vehicle as an extension of themselves, the site asks visitors: “What Drives You?” Five animated vignettes act as “answers”, each representing a different dimension of the vehicle’s – and driver’s – personality.
