Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced memory technology, has become the first in the industry to sample 1.8-inch and 2.5-inch 64GB (GB) solid state drives (SSD) with a super-fast SATA (Serial ATA) II/native SATA interface. With a sequential write speed of 100Megabyte per second (MBps) and sequential read speed of 120MBps, the SATA II SSD is poised to expand the market for solid state drives from notebook PCs to corporate servers and other high-performance storage applications.

Samsung 64 Gb flash memory chip

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leader in advanced semiconductor technology, announced that it has developed the world‘s first 64 Gigabit (Gb) multi level cell (MLC) NAND flash memory chip – using 30-nanometer (nm)-class process technology. The flash memory device represents a major leap forward in the move to higher density flash storage solutions at a time of exploding demand for flash as the main storage medium in computing and digital applications. A maximum sixteen 64Gb flash devices can be combined to make a 128 Gigabyte (GB) memory card that can store 80 DVD resolution movies or 32,000 MP3 music files.

Blu-Ray authoring center

China HuaLu Group and China Film Group announced that both parties will team up to establish a Blu-Ray Authoring Center in China. The center initially will focus on releasing Chinese local content on Blu-ray Disc format to the market. China Hualu Group is the only one consumer electronics company directly under the Chinese State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of State Council.

Sony has created a special range of Blu-ray Disc products to give people access to the new HD world in whatever form they want. The options range from Blu-ray Disc Players capable of outstanding HD audio-visual performance to notebook PCs powerful enough to edit and burn HD video content to Blu-ray Disc as well as serve as players in their own right. As High Definition becomes the new standard for video, Blu-ray Disc is increasingly visible as the natural medium for storing super-size HD content. From Hollywood movies to personal HD video captured on an HD Handycam, Blu-ray Disc will hold it all.

ATP Electronics Inc. is pleased to announce the launch and immediate availability of the 2GB microSD flash cards. In addition, also available will be the 2GB versions of ATP's award-winning flash solution products: the SD Trio Professional, the SD Trio Professional Plus, and the Memory Stick Pro Duo/microSD combo.
